The Wendell Siding Process:

wendell Siding raleigh North carolinaWith more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Wendell Siding follows a proven, step-by-step process that  helps to ensure customer satisfaction. This process includes the following steps:

Step 1:    Initial Site Visit
Step 2:    Ballpark Estimate
Step 3:    Pre-construction Phase
Step 4:    Construction Phase
Step 5:    Project Completion

Step One: Initial Site Visit
Once you return the Project Profile Sheet, we schedule an appointment with you at your home. Please allow at least 1.5 hours for this meeting. We request that all parties involved in your project attend that meeting. At this initial, no-charge consultation and site visit, we take photos of the lot and area involved in the proposed project, and we discuss the following with you:

  • Design criteria
  • Structural considerations
  • Window/door styles and brands
  • Options to be considered

The Initial Site Visit is your opportunity to assess Wendell Siding as well. Your family’s safety is a priority at Wendell Siding. We require full screenings and background checks of all our workers, most of whom have been with us for years. And before you authorize a project, you will have the opportunity to talk with other homeowners from Wendell Siding extensive reference list. You will learn that Wendell Siding is sensitive to your concerns about security, construction dust and debris, communication, and the all-important issue of safety. We treat your home as if it were our own. The next step in the process is the Ballpark Estimate.

Step Two: Ballpark Estimate:

Before work begins you will be provided with a ballpark estimate that will include your selected products &the neccassary labor. At Wendell Siding we are sensitive to our clients budgetary needs. But in remodeling & construction the unexpected sometimes occur. If our team discovers a potential unseen problem we will immediately stop work on your home & contact you directly to discuss any additional charges that may apply,

Preparing Your Home

Step Three: Pre-construction Phase for Remodeling and Renovations
Think about:

  • How you should prepare your house for remodeling
  • Location of the portable toilet
  • Location of the material staging area
  • Location of the debris pile and debris control
  • Dust and damage control
  • Lead paint hazard for homes constructed before 1978
  • Home security and project safety
  • Children and pets and their access to the worksite
  • Parking for our construction crew
  • How production schedules and working hours will impact your family
  • Payment schedules
  • Delays incurred and why
  • Phone use
  • Job signs and permit box locations

Preparing Your Home for a Remodel and Renovations

home remodeling raleigh north carolinaDiscuss the project with your family, so they know what to expect. Remodeling can be stressful, particularly for small children, and especially if the area being remodeled is effecting the access to a kitchen, bath or bedroom. The workmen, noise and dust can be a very real annoyance. We understand this and will do our part to make a minimal impact on your life and your schedules.

Depending upon the scope of the job, your yard and landscaping may be damaged.  Unless specified in the contract, shrubbery will not be replaced. If shrubs are designated to be saved, we will make every effort to tie them up to allow room to work in that area. If tying is not a practical solution, you may be advised to have a landscaper remove shrubs for future re-installation. Finally, after due preparation, you will be ready for the next step: Construction

Construction Phase for Renovation

Step Four: Construction Phase

When construction is ready to begin, Wendell Siding will draft a production schedule that is shared with all parties involved. Then the real work begins. Remodeling is exciting. Making design choices is creative and absorbing. It is rewarding to turn a dream into reality, but it is also chaotic, messy and challenging. Wendell Siding never lets a homeowner operate under the illusion that a remodeling project is a “walk in the park”. Remodeling can be a major disruption in your family’s lives. But with good communication and a contractor who is sensitive to your expectations and needs, the experience can be what it is meant to be: exciting, fun and rewarding. You will look forward to the last phase of the process: Project Completion.

Project Completion

Step Five: Project Completion

The construction process follows through to completion of the project and completion of the final to do list. The final payment is not due until the to-do list is completed. The final payment initiates the life time standard warranty.

Details Matters!
Although Wendell Siding strives for perfection, everyone knows that small details will need attention. That is the reason behind the final “to do list”. Created at the end of the project by the homeowner, the “to do list” contains items or tasks that need repair, adjustment or completion. Here are some typical to do list items to check for:
  • Painting flaws
  • Caulking flaws
  • Trim flaws etc.
Wendell Siding guarantees our quality of workmanship will meet or exceed the Home Builders Residential Construction Performance Guidelines published by the National Home Builders Association. If you see a flaw or have a problem, be sure to tell us! Wendell Siding has a reputation for customer satisfaction that we intend to uphold.
